Grey jerked back and looked up into Mica s smiling eyes.
Grey, I meant we can t do this here. If you want to do it in a less public arena,
then I d be more than willing. I will admit to being a little confused. I m pretty sure you said you were
straight.
Grey reluctantly moved his hand away from the temptation of Mica s cock. The
heat of it was like a brand on his palm. I ve been thinking about that. I don t know what to define
myself as right now. I do know that every time I came these last couple of days, I was panting your
name.
Mica s eyes went molten with lust. Damn it, why do you have to say something
like that when I can t do a thing about it?

Sorry, Grey said with a smile that contradicted that simple word.
Sure you are. I bet you ve been
Simon s yell from the other room interrupted him. Hey, we re done with the
potatoes. Get a move on. I m losing weight as we speak.
Mica laughed. Later?
Grey nodded. Yeah, and we ll talk about that note.
He would rather talk about the note now, but he knew Mica wouldn t want the
rest of the guys to know about it.
MICA CONTEMPLATED THE mystery that was Grey. Not even being
surrounded by his coworkers in the common room could distract Mica from
considering the possibility of something happening with him. The man was hot. Mica s thoughts stayed
centered around the idea of bending Grey over and fucking him,
audience be damned. It didn t help that every time he caught Grey s gaze, those amber depths
practically glowed with desire. Desire that Mica could do nothing about anytime soon. He was off in an
hour, but Grey s shift had just started.
Fuck, he didn t know if he could wait that long. The way Grey had kissed him, the
way he d sucked on his tongue, had nearly made Mica cream in his jeans. The man
definitely had skills in the kissing department.
Grey chose that moment to wink at him. Who knew the serious man was such a
tease?
The only dark cloud over the day was that Mica still had to deal with that note. It
could be Jefferies or Darrel. While he didn t think either knew for certain he was gay, Grey was right
about rumors being broadcast. He frowned. It was precisely for this
reason he hadn t come out yet.
He glanced up at Grey, who mouthed, What s wrong?
Mica mouthed back, Talk later.

All right, guys. I m taking my chicken to go. See you all tomorrow, Mica said.
Hey, what s made in the firehouse stays in the firehouse, Simon chimed.
I buck tradition. It isn t my fault the chicken wasn t done sooner, Mica said and
grabbed his plate.
Maybe if you hadn t been chatting Grey up earlier, he would have finished it
before now, Dale muttered.
Grow up, Michael shouted with a laugh. Have a good day, Mica.
Mica strolled out into the midday sun. Courtesy of Grey, he didn t have to worry
about buying lunch. If he kept eating meals like this, he was going to get fat. Granted, the other guys
attacked the food like wild animals, so in the end he was lucky to get his portion.
He walked through the parking lot, got into his truck, and sat there staring out the window. Accusing
Grey earlier had left him feeling more than a little foolish. The man made him feel so damn vulnerable
he lost reason. That was as good an excuse as any
why he d found himself flaying, then practically fucking the man in the locker room. He was like a
hormone-driven teenager. All horny, confused, and with little to no control over how he responded.
He laid his head on the steering wheel. He would stop thinking about Grey. At
least long enough to get home, but when the lights went off, he knew the fantasy of
Grey would come crawling into bed with him.
As he started his truck and turned out onto the street, the pull Grey had on him
made him yearn to circle back around. With strength of will he forced himself to run his errands. His
cupboards were bare, his laundry was piling up, and his kitchen and
bathroom had seen much better days.
His time off was far from exciting. He momentarily considered going out to the
bar later that night but quickly tossed that thought aside. The only man he wanted was working an eight-
hour swing shift. Which meant Grey would be home after
eleven& not that Mica was keeping track or anything. Oh no.

He made swift work of his grocery shopping and trudged through the door of his
small home. Grudgingly he performed his chores. The biggest challenge of his day was keeping his
thoughts lassoed so they wouldn t wander into Grey fantasyland and
distract him.
As soon as he d folded his briefs and put them away, he crashed. The last couple
of days had been too long and too full of stress. Grey was someone to look forward to, but he d have to
rest up for that. With a smile on his face, he put the note to the back of his mind and drifted off.

Draven St. James
Chapter Six
The sound of glass splintering jolted Mica awake. He sprang off his bed, down the
stairs, and ran to his living room. His bay window was shattered, and a large rock lay on the floor. What
the hell? He put on his shoes and carefully navigated through the shards of glass to pick up the stone. It
had a note rubber-banded to it. The message was in the same scrawl as the other note.
I said to leave, queer. Next time it won t be just a rock.
He frowned. His mind went back and forth as to whether he should call the police. [ Pobierz całość w formacie PDF ]
